Who we serve
Not everyone who needs a governed operating system for their business is starting from the same place. Some have an idea and nothing else. Some have a business running on spreadsheets and good intentions. Some want to build it themselves. Some have a year of material and just need it organized. Studio meets each of them where they are— and lets them move, on their own terms, as far as they’re ready to go.
The Explorer has an idea they’ve “always thought of” — but no hardware, no technical background, and no spare hours to stand up software from scratch, and no wish to spend money finding out the idea doesn’t hold together. They start a free session. As they answer a few plain questions about what they’re building, they watch their own business take shape in front of them — in their own words, not a template. Nothing is saved until they decide to keep it.

Refuse to host anything, and you keep your hands clean while locking out everyone without the infrastructure to go it alone. Host everything freely, and you become the very thing your protocol was built to make unnecessary. Each belief, held alone, betrays the other.
The answer isn’t a compromise between the two. It’s recognizing that self-sufficiency and access are two different doors— not one dial you have to set somewhere in the middle.
The protocol is open. The reference toolkit is free. You can self-host on your own infrastructure, inspect everything, and never touch a GrytLabs server. Nothing about that path requires our involvement, ever.
